King of the Hills open pit will process over 5.5 million tonnes of ore per year with a 15 year mine life, combined with KOTH underground, Darlot underground and satellite pits ounce production will be in the range of 200,000oz per annum.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Geology Manager, the purpose of the Senior OP Mine Geologist is to provide planning and supervision of the grade control function, personnel, reconciliations, and modelling of the deposit at King of the Hills.
This role will be offered on a FIFO 8/6 Roster based at our King of the Hills Operation.
Point of hire: PERTH, WA
Key responsibilities will include:
Overseeing training and development of the open pit geology team, managing daily reporting, open pit grade control, ROM, and stockpile management. Daily and end of month reconciliation reporting. Working and liaising with Mining, Processing, and Vault Minerals business partners. Ensuring that risks and opportunities are communicated in a timely manner. Contributing to short, medium, and long-term mine planning with Mine Engineering and Technical Services. Working with Mine Engineers to optimise the Resource to Reserve conversion. Demonstrating full compliance with OHS and Environmental Management Systems' standards by participating in initiatives; toolbox meetings; investigations; training; assisting with implementation; and contributing to audits within the mine. Key factors to your success include:
Tertiary qualification in Geology (BSc. Geology or Applied Geology) Ideally >5 years' experience predominantly in an open pit production environment, with a minimum of 2 years' operating at a senior level A sound understanding of technical open pit geology, with exposure to multiple mining methods and varying ore deposits. Open pit experience with a focus on Archean Greenstone gold systems, especially stockworks is desirable. High level understanding of gold assaying techniques and ore mineralogy. Intermediate level in relevant mining 3D Software, Vulcan, Leapfrog, AcQuire and Microsoft Office computing software. WA Manual C Class Driver's License. How to register your interest:
