Queensland Rail is looking for a Signalling Systems Assurance Lead (Rail). This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative project that will enhance the public transportation network across Queensland.
This position is offered as a fixed-term role with Queensland Rail until June 2028, with the potential for transition to a permanent employment status after two years of continuous employment.

The program includes the design and manufacture of 65 new trains to cater for the growing demand for rail services within Southeast Queensland. The new trains will be manufactured and maintained in Queensland thus creating jobs in the rail industry and associated supply chains.
Some key areas of focus for this role are:
Lead the development and implementation of systems engineering methodologies for railway signalling projects.Produce Assurance Plan, Assurance Arguments and safety documentation related to Signalling Engineering artifices.Provide strategic guidance and interpretation of assurance requirements and standards.Establish and maintain knowledge of critical aspects within assurance packages.Conduct safety assurance activities, including hazard analysis, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies, to ensure compliance with safety standards.What you'll bring: Candidates will have Railway Signalling and Systems Engineering and/or Safety Assurance experience.High level of skill and experience in delivering Systems Engineering and/or Safety Assurance activities to meet project requirements.Analytical skills including critical thinking, data analysis, research, and ability to identify and solve complex issues.Team, stakeholder and contractor engagement communication skills, ability to work across multiple functions and scopes of work, take accountability and drive successful outcomes.High level of influencing, interpersonal, communication and consultation skills.Independence and ability to operate without direct supervision and exercise initiative.Qualifications at the time of application: Bachelor Engineering Electrical/Electronic Degree.Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).Location and typical working hours: Standard 38 hours per week Monday to Friday.Located in our Brisbane CBD office, Queensland.Anticipated recruitment timeline: Our recruitment process for this position will be ongoing through to January 2025.
