You could be one of our 2700 committed team members who are up to the challenge. About the role Fantastic opportunity to join our Northeast team based out of Seymour or Kilmore East. As a Signaller , you will be responsible for the coordination of all Train movements within the designated Control Area (Seymour or Kilmore East). This is a critical role and is pivotal in ensuring the Northeast corridor operates safely & efficiently.    You will be operating a Signal Control Console and infield Signalling apparatus equipment to maintain the delivery of service to customers and ensure the provision of the best possible train services to V/line's passengers & Third-party rail access seekers. Key Accountabilities include: Operate the infield signalling equipment as required for trains arriving and departing from the Seymour or Kilmore East Signal Panel. Efficiently and safely control the movement of trains, infrastructure vehicles and protection workgroups within designated locations by the operation of points and signals and with adherence to rules and regulations. Liaise with Train Control and Neighbouring Networks Train Control for the operation and Safe working of all rail traffic and works. Compliance with all statutory obligations, internal policies and procedures relevant to work responsibilities, duties and work practices, including maintaining documents and records as assigned responsibility for. Communicate accurate and timely information on services and facilities at the station, including PIDS and remote PA systems at unmanned locations if relevant. About you You are highly adaptable, motivated and possess strong communication skills. You enjoy problem solving and having an impact with the work you do. You ideally have operational or service delivery experience however if you have an alternate background and feel you have the right skills match, we want to hear from you.  Due to the nature of the operating environment, there will be times you will need to perform under pressure however this is a rewarding career that will contribute to the success of V/Line. Our ideal candidate will have prior experience in: Ideally you hold Rail Safe working qualifications and have previous experience in a rail environment, however this is not essential. Prior experience and qualifications in Automatic Block Signalling and Train Order systems is ideal but not mandatory (training will be provided if not qualified). A current and valid Driver's licence is mandatory. Previous exposure to service delivery or operational roles. You must be able to work on a rotating roster including weekends and overnight shifts. Salary for this role will be paid in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Agreement 2019 Enterprise agreement at a SIGNALMAN SPL A ( $40.09 per hour plus super which is approximately $80k plus super before allowances ). This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with 5-weeks annual leave, superannuation, 20% leave loading and a free myki for metro & regional travel.
