About the Team Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains.
With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About the Opportunity Carry out signal maintenance activities on the ARTC network efficiently, effectively and safely in accordance with documented signal maintenance procedures in a professional manner.
Ensure the safe and reliable operation of all signalling equipment, as detailed on the roster for the particular section, by carrying out routine maintenance and inspection procedures in accordance with Technical Maintenance Plans, ARTC Specifications and the Works Order system or other maintenance planning system.
Ensure that all signals equipment is kept in satisfactory operating condition by regularly inspecting for wear and defects and promptly renewing or replacing components as required.
What do we want from you?
Detailed knowledge of a single rail infrastructure discipline.
Knowledge of or an awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.
Safe working qualified (PO1 minimum, PO2 desirable) Drivers Licence Class C ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or demonstrated ability to attain as per Signals Competency Assessment (EST-20-03).
Trade Certificate in electrical trade Sound knowledge of testing parameters, signal circuit wiring plans, power wiring systems and signal track plans.
Knowledge of or an awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.
Current drivers' license Desirable Track Safety Awareness/National Code of Practice.
