Shunt Qualified Freight Operator (Level 4)

Aurizon is currently seeking a shunt qualified Freight Operator (Level 4) for our Mackay Depot. About the role: Shunting and yard duties (including cleaning)Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.Undertake the theoretical and practical components of the training program.Ensure that the loading and unloading of customer's products are carried out efficiently and safely.Conduct brake testing of trains.Effectively communicate with other depot personnel face to face and via two way radio.About you: Ideally with recent experience, you are able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and customer service.
Shunt Qualified (mandatory)C Class Manual Drivers Licence (mandatory).A willingness to work a 24/7 roster and shift lengths of up to 12 hours.Strong commitment to safety.Mechanical aptitude.Strong problem solving and communication skills.As a part of the company's recruitment and selection process shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake psychometric testing, criminal history check and successfully pass a pre-employment health assessment that will involve drug and alcohol screening.
