Management - Store (Retail & Consumer Products)Full timeSalary: $65,000 – $75,000 per year (based on experience)Are you a dynamic leader with a green thumb and a knack for shop management? Our medium-sized family-owned landscaping company is seeking a talented and motivated Shop Manager to join our team and help us continue to grow and thrive.As the Shop Manager at Akers of Lawn, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our physical onsite shop and ecommerce platform. You'll have the opportunity to join a dedicated team of professionals who take pride in their work and are committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients.ResponsibilitiesStore Operations:Oversee the daily operations of the retail outlet (including half day Saturday), ensuring the store is open and operating efficiently during business hours.Maintain an organized and visually appealing store layout that aligns with Akers of Lawn's brand identity.Implement and maintain store policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.Customer Service:Ensure high-quality customer service is provided at all times by greeting customers, answering queries, and offering product recommendations, in line with Akers service reputation of excellence.Address and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.Lead by example in promoting a customer-first culture among staff.Drive sales through effective merchandising, upselling, and promotional activities.Monitor and report on sales performance, providing weekly and monthly updates to the COO.Work with the COO to set and meet monthly sales targets.Inventory Management:Monitor stock levels, place orders, and ensure products are available in-store as needed.Conduct regular stock takes and manage inventory discrepancies.Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure timely deliveries of stock.Warehouse Management:Oversee the organisation and management of the warehouse, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of products.Ensure accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock audits. Coordinate with freight company for cost-effective, efficient product distribution and delivery.Load/unload trucks as required and replenish shelving. Bag/bucket products as required.Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse and shop at all times.Handle daily cash management, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled, in line with Akers procedures.Manage the store's budget, minimizing wastage and controlling costs while optimizing profitability.Collaborate with COO & bookkeeper on reporting, invoicing, and other financial procedures.Health & Safety:Ensure the shop adheres to health and safety regulations, providing a safe environment for staff and customers.Conduct regular risk assessments and address any issues or hazards that arise.Sustainability & Brand Values:Promote the use of Akers of Lawn's organic lawn care products, educating customers on sustainable lawn care practices.Ensure that the shop's operations align with Akers of Lawn's commitment to family values and exceptional customer service.QualificationsProven leadership and team management skills.Ability to meet and exceed sales targets.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.Experience in retail operations, stock management, and merchandising.Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and cash handling.Knowledge of lawn care products.Able to commit to Mon-Fri & a half day on Saturday.Prior experience in a retail management role, preferably in lawn care, garden supplies, or similar industries.Strong understanding of retail processes and best practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Forklift licence (LF).Ecommerce knowledge (highly desirable).Join us and become a part of our close-knit family business where your contributions are valued, and your potential for growth is unlimited.
