TheOpportunity
We areseeking a motivated individual to join our Planning and RegulatoryServices team.
You will be responsible for providing efficient,professional and customer focused planning services, which meet allapplicable legislative obligations and complement other functions(infrastructure, building, environmental health and local laws)within the Shire.
This role isalso responsible for:
Provideprofessional planning advice on matters to the community,Government agencies, developers, and other department on landuse planning and development Administering theShire's Local Planning Scheme and land Use Control inaccordance with Council delegations, planning policies andadministrative procedures; Lodgeand record development and other planning related applicationsand subdivision referrals in accordance with relevantlegislation and policy; Prepareand present reports to Council on planning matters; Respondto general enquiries related to land use planning anddevelopment and the Shire's Local Planning Scheme,policies, relevant Acts, Local Laws or Regulations; Provideexcellent customer service and build and maintain effectiveworking relationships with external customers and stakeholdersto achieve Shire goals; Ensurecompliance with statutory provisions and technical standardsand assist with resolution of planning matters; Degree inUrban and Regional Planning or related field and equivalentindustry experience and current unrestricted WA Drivers Licence areessential for this role.
You will need to be able todemonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of relevant andcurrent statutory requirements, Acts and Local Laws within a localgovernment planning context, well-developed interpersonal skills,well-developed report writing skills, sound time management skillsand excellent computer skills.

Locationand Remuneration Package
The role willbe based from the Shire offices in Kununurra.
An attractiveremuneration package will include base salary, location allowance,and 11.5% Superannuation.
This role isfulltime with a remuneration package rangingbetween$106,000 $112,000 perannum.
