As our Youth Development Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving youth programs and initiatives across the Shire that will provide young people with meaningful opportunities to explore diverse experiences, build essential skills, and unlock their potential.
Key responsibilities include coordinating and delivering our flagship 'InZone' school holiday program, organizing events and projects such as 'Youth Week,' and implementing youth leadership and development initiatives in collaboration with our Youth Collectives. You will also build and maintain strong partnerships with youth service providers, local government agencies, key stakeholders, and education institutions to enhance community capacity and ensure the sustainability of our Youth Services.
Your excellent written communication and project management skills will be critical in sourcing and managing funding to support youth initiatives, as well as preparing reports, submissions, and other required documentation.
With a positive attitude, proactive approach, and strong team focus, you will work collaboratively with the Community Development team to support broader community development initiatives beyond the Youth Services portfolio.

Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire's HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork Relevant degree and/or experience in a similar role Demonstrated and extensive experience in dealing with youth programs, initiatives and events Experience in report writing and grant submissions. Experience in project management of community-based projects Strong computer skills in MS Office, internet, and email Working with Children Check Ability to work flexible hours i.e., occasional weekends or evenings to work with community groups Moderate level of physical fitness to participate in programs Experience in marketing and promotions, awareness of Disability Access & Inclusion principles and issues and knowledge of local government policies and procedures will be highly regarded.
