Ship's Master / Chief Engineer / Marine SurveyorAmSpec is a market leader in independent inspection, testing, verification and specialized technical services to the Marine, Oil, Gas and Chemical, exploration, production, refining and transportation industries. The right candidate: If you hold a Master Mariner Unlimited Licence or Marine Chief Engineer qualification, have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience and a willingness to work in a regional location – we want to hear from you.The role: We have a full-time permanent vacancy for this busy diverse role in Karratha, Western Australia.Main responsibilities includecoordinating ship's berthing and loading, assessing, monitoring and reporting on conditions of ships and goods and ensuring all marine standards are upheld and adhered to.Specific responsibilities:Controlling and coordinating ships berthing and loading operationsOrganise requirements for shifting the ship as requiredProvide technical assistance regarding barge and vessel loading activitiesAdhere to marine safety regulations and occupational health & safety regulations regarding ships in ports.Perform and oversee inspection/surveying tasks for the vessel including draft surveys, cargo trimming, oil/chemical tanker quantity surveys and sampling, on hire/off hire bunker and condition surveys, flag state inspections, quality surveys, container damage surveysAnalyze data obtained from surveys and formulate recommendations pertaining to vessel compliance and capacitiesDraft accurate, professional reports regarding findings and recommendationsMarine and technical consultancyReview of ETA lists and coordination of ship's servicesLiaise with clients and build positive relationshipsProvide guidance to trainees, junior surveyors & ship's personnelPresent the company in a professional and ethical manner to all customersConduct all activities in line with the company Code of Ethics and Operating StandardsMust demonstrate the right to live and work in AustraliaHold a valid Australian Driver's LicenseHave a Master Mariner Unlimited License or Marine Chief Engineer issuedunder the STCW ConventionHold a valid MSIC or the ability and willingness to obtain oneOther required Skills:Leadership skillsStrong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office - MS Word, MS Excel and MS OutlookAbility to perform physically demanding work activitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdditional information AmSpec's culture is about our core values of integrity and professionalism and developing our capability to exceed Clients' and Employees' expectations, through the enthusiastic involvement of all our people.AmSpec provides a competitive compensation package and a wide range of benefits. www.amspecgroup.comAmSpec is a market leader in independent inspection, testing, verification and specialized technical services to the Marine, Oil, Gas and Chemical, exploration, production, refining and transportation industries.
