Ship Master / Draft Surveyor

Sea Corporation Pty Ltd (Seacorp), which is part of the Thompson Shipping Group of Companies, is one of the world's leading independently owned shipping houses specialising in ship agency, marine surveys and outturn management services at all Chinese commercial ports.

We are seeking the services of a master mariner or marine surveyor to join our Port Hedland team.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager – Pilbara, the successful candidate will provide support to our established marine team in Port Hedland by undertaking the Ships Master / Draft Surveyor duties for vessels loading iron ore at Fortescue's bulk berths.

Applicants Minimum Competency Requirements
The successful applicant will possess Master Mariner - Class 1 (unlimited) qualifications with a thorough understanding of dry bulk draft survey and vessel stability calculations or be accredited by a competent authority, such as AIMS, as a Draft Surveyor with extensive bulk shipping draft survey experience.

The successful applicant shall be a conscientious team player with a "can do" attitude possessing excellent communication, time management, attention to detail and organisational skills.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities
The role requires the following duties to be performed as a minimum:
Undertake the Ship Master / Draft Surveyor role, ensuring the safe co-ordination of vessel operational requirements and vessel movements.
Closely liaise with the vessels Master and/or Officers to ensure safe loading operations during the vessels port call.
Undertake the Draft Survey role attending to draft survey requirements ensuring the vessels compliance with all Marine Safety Regulations.
Interfacing with our customers, clients and service providers ensuring superior customer service.
