We handle more than 11 million tonnes of bulk cargo per annum and maintain more than 130,000 square metres of warehousing space nationally.The OpportunityLINX Ports Services are currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to join our Darwin operation. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role managing our stevedoring workforce. You will be a people leader with experience and a strong focus on people management, safety, and continuous business improvement.About the PositionThe Shift Supervisor will be responsible for but not limited to the below:Plan, organise and deliver on the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight from vessels.Lead, motivate and direct employees to perform their duties in accordance with LINX's safety and operational standards.Manage and communicate work instructions, policies, and procedures to the workforce.Allocate labour and machinery as required to facilitate a cost-effective and efficient operation per shift.Oversee and drive shift performance and continuous improvement across our workforce.Manage and drive a strong safety culture across the workforce including conducting toolboxes, safety observations and recommending corrective actions.Due to shipping hours, shifts may vary from day to day to suit shipping schedules and business requirements.About Your ExperienceHave proven experience in a supervisor role in logistics or a similar industry.Previous experience effectively managing diverse work teams.Be able to work a rotating roster that includes days, afternoons, nights, and weekends.Have strong people management skills and communication.Have proven leadership skills and be able to work in a team environment.Be able to work autonomously in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.Be able to work to strict deadlines with excellent time management skills.Experience in planning, problem solving, and reporting.Have mid-level computer skills with proficiencies in Excel, Word, and Outlook.Have a strong focus on safety and be able to uphold LINX's high safety standards and compliance.Be able to pass a Pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol screen.The BenefitsAttractive Remuneration packageShort Term Incentive BonusFull time positionGreat workplace cultureSupportive team and local managementEmployee Assistance and Wellbeing ProgramWorking for us will put you in a strategic position with your career, with opportunities for growth and development along with financial and non-financial benefits.We're looking for people who share and live our values of BE BRAVE BE BOLD, WE ARE ONE, HOME SAFELY EVERY DAY, ACT LIKE YOU OWN IT & POWERED BY PEOPLE.Our culture embraces diversity across our workforce and we encourage everyone to apply.Closing DateApplications close on 02/12/2024.
