The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.Project scope includes:Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction.Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels.Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway.The OpportunityACCIONA is seeking a dedicated Shift Engineer to be an integral part of our team on this groundbreaking project. As a TBM Shift Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring successful TBM operations.This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a landmark project that will have a lasting impact on the community. If you are passionate about engineering, safety, and teamwork, we invite you to be part of this exciting venture.Key accountabilities for the position:Ensure all TBM activities align with project timelines, budgets, quality standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.Provide technical guidance and planning support to workforce members, supervisors, and subcontractors for seamless TBM operations.Manage daily operations to ensure smooth running of TBM activities during assigned shifts.Oversee and coordinate TBM shift teams, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.Regularly monitor and analyse TBM operational parameters, daily production metrics, and troubleshoot any mechanical, electrical, or operational issues to optimise performance.Oversee and manage hyperbaric interventions, ensuring safety and efficiency.Ensure the installation of precast tunnel lining segments meets high-quality standards for long-term durability.Liaise with site management and support functions for timely delivery of resources and adherence to project timelines.Record and report shift activities, progress, and operational challenges to the senior engineering team.Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on TBM equipment to minimise downtime.Assist in the training and development of TBM shift personnel, ensuring their skills align with operational needs.Report on production, costs, and program, as well as safety, quality, and environmental issues.Required Skills and CompetenciesCapability & Experience you will need to have:Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.Prior experience in underground construction, particularly with TBM operations. (Beneficial)Willingness to work on a rotating dayshift/nightshift roster 5 days a week (Monday to Friday).
