High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections & Specialist Operations; Wacol
The High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole. It comprises the following work groups:
HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from Wacol;HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville;The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision.To be successful in this role, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following experience, knowledge and skills: Demonstrated experience or understanding of criminal justice environments, including supervision and monitoring approaches in the context of correctional environments.Proven experience, or the ability to rapidly acquire and apply skills, in the use of technical monitoring systems, information databases, and asset management processes.Capability and experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability in risk management approaches, and the ability to exercise good judgement and initiative to resolve issues or conflicts.Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policy and procedures in an operational environment.Previous shift management experience, preferably gained within a continuous shift, complex operational context.Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements: There are no mandatory qualifications required for this position.The incumbent will be required to undertake and successfully complete internal pre-service training and associated accreditations, and ongoing training and professional development relevant to the role.The incumbent may be required to travel on official business and the possession of a C class licence is required.Current Blue Card for working with children or the ability to obtain one within six weeks of commencement is mandatory.This position will undertake shift work to support the 24/7 operations of the business unit.
