The SHE Advisor will support Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) initiatives, risk reduction, and incident response across the IHG Victoria businesses, ensuring consistency with the Metcash SHE Management System, SHE Strategy, best practice, and applicable legislative requirements.Sounds great!
Tell me about the roleAssist the site leaders and key stakeholders to implement strategies & initiatives across sites as required.Coordinate the continuous improvement of site SHE compliance frameworks, including but not limited to the Site SHE Management Plan, Traffic Management Plan, Chemical Registers, etc.Utilise current skills & knowledge to coach and develop site leaders in activities such as SHE engagements, critical risk reviews, injury management, and general safety health and environment matters.Work with site teams to regularly review the Site Risk Register's hazards and controls against Codes of Practice, Standards, legislative requirements, and Metcash's internal requirements.Develop and oversee the progress of a prioritized plan of initiatives to reduce risk.In consultation with the operations team and SHE team, develop or contribute to risk assessments as required.Promote proactive site activities that support risk reduction such as hazard reporting and management of change processes.Coordinate/support wearable technology utilization and provide guidance to operations leaders on data identifying high-risk activities.Through site walks/observations, monitor adherence to site rules and policies relating to SHE to assist with injury and incident reduction.Promote early notification, investigation & documentation of all incidents.Support maintenance of site SHE notice boards and sharing SHE information with team members.Participate in site SHE & Injury Management (IM) meetings and other communication forums.Facilitate SHE promotion/programs alignment with local, State, and national events.Deliver internal training packages as required.Keep Management informed of SHE and/or IM issues in the workplace.Proactively consult with and engage HSR's, site leadership, and national support personnel.Liaise with and maintain effective relationships with front line leadership teams to ensure effective communication and implementation of safety activities and matters.Ensure Evotix data entry is completed in a timely manner aligned with business requirements.Ensure all site SHE documentation is in line with SHE Management System frameworks.Monitor all leading indicators for the Region and support compliance/improvement of trends.Participate in and/or conduct SHE audits and inspections.Proactively share relevant SHE information between sites & business pillars.Participate in SHE & Injury Management projects from development to implementation as required.You're Likely a Match If you haveCertificate IV or tertiary qualification in WHS.Sound understanding of a warehouse/retail environment.High attention to detail.Strong organisational & time management skills.Ability to build strong relationships.Life at MetcashExperience a supportive and flexible work environment.
