Your Role:
The Settlements Officer is responsible forthe timely processing of home loans including loan security documentation associated with purchases, refinances, discharges and variations.
The role is also responsible for providing on-going support to members, branches and third parties associated with the full loan process.
Member Focus (60%)
Demonstrate consistently the ability to meet or exceed member service level agreements
Records within our core banking system interactions of items processed
Investigate and escalate issues in relation to documentation, Certificate of Title, Mortgage, Loan Contracts, Guarantees, PPSR & Other loan Documentation
Apply sound organisational and time management skills handling competing priorities appropriately
Member Operations (30%)
Document Preparation:
Checking of loan documentation for completeness & Accuracy
Preparation of Loan Contracts
Preparation of discharge payout figures and account closures
Preparation of Break Fee quotes and correspondence
Preparation of Consents and legal documentation such as removal of borrowers or production of titles.
Following up on Missing Information.
Processing :
Processing construction loan drawdown/payments
Processing of all switch/variation requests within agreed upon timeframes
Processing of DVA/DHOAS related inquiries
Cross checking all relevant documentation has been received as per bank process, policy & procedures
Settlements :
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to the banks panel solicitors, Valex, Lender , Broker Intermediaries, DVA/DHOAS, builders, contractors and government bodies and to achieve a positive member experience
Prepare and send Post Settlement notifications to members
Settlements & Variations Group Box is managed with all requests responded to professionally within agreed upon timeframes.
Instructing Panel Solicitors for all new approved mortgages
Co-ordinating settlement functions
Execute FHOG applications and GL reconciliation
Feedback provided in relation to re-worked loans to Lender/underwriter and recorded
Compliance
Compliance standards are met
Demonstrate an understanding of the banks strategies, products policies and procedures
Report regularly to the Settlements Team Leader on quality and disclosure issues relating to loan files
Accurately store loan documentation in Security Packets and all sensitive material to adhere to clean desk policy

Demonstrate willingness and ability to work productively in teams and build rapport and open, constructive relations with the branch network
Complete training as required
Demonstrate and apply the banks vision and goals and the values in day to day work
About You
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate the below key attributes and experience:
Technical Skills
Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and databases.
An understanding of banking/financial services and products
Required Behaviours
At least 3 years' experience working in property conveyancing or in a loan settlements role.
Legal and or conveyancing knowledge desirable
Demonstrated high customer service and relationship management skills
Experience with reading certificate of titles, loan contracts, mortgages, other loan documentation
Ability to effectively prioritise, manage deadlines and adopt to new ideas and concepts quickly
Confident, enthusiastic, motivated, works well under pressure, takes ownership and responsibility of all matters and shows exceptional attention to detail
Knowledge of the mortgage process – post credit approval and pre-settlements
High level attention to detail
