The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) will provide timely and accurate administrative/transactional services for members of the health care team within the Antenatal Ward and Antenatal Outpatients department under the direction of the Midwifery Unit Managers of the departments. The CSO will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the Service will remain the responsibility of the Midwifery Manager –of each department. Maintain responsibilities for personal and professional development by participating in training/education activities, and performance reviews in order to continuously improve the level and quality of service. Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines. Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment.
