The position aims to ensure students remain engaged in the program to achieve educational outcomes through problem solving, collaboration, and liaison with both allied health clinicians and the Aboriginal Health Unit team. The role also supports ongoing expansion of the program. The position is part of the district allied health team. What you'll be doing: This position provides culturally appropriate support and mentoring to the Aboriginal Allied Health School Based trainees. The position aims to ensure students remain engaged in the program to achieve educational outcomes through problem solving, collaboration, and liaison with both allied health clinicians and the Aboriginal Health Unit team. The role also supports ongoing expansion of the program. The successful candidate will provide high quality Allied Health oversight of the trainees consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards. Selection Criteria: Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and registration requirements as required by the Award OR for psychologists; recognised qualification in accordance with the Health and Community Employees Psychologists (State) Award and full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Applicants will also require a Working with Children Check. This is an identified position under the provisions of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act (1977) for Aboriginal people who meet the following criteria, is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and is accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community. Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders, identify risks and issues, develop solutions and implement effective evaluation strategies. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Allied Health discipline of qualification and demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels Ability to provide in-depth cultural advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff Current unrestricted NSW driver's license and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
