We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Servicing Industrial Officer to join our Member Servicing team on a full-time basis. In this position, you will report to the Member Servicing Coordinator and be responsible for providing high level industrial assistance, advice and representation to members individually or collectively as required, on various industrial and professional employment matters.
A key requirement of this role is to determine the appropriate industrial direction of an issue/dispute, either independently or through internal and/or external collaboration, depending on the complexity of the matter. You will file a claim in the relevant jurisdiction, prepare quality supporting materials, and provide direct representation primarily in relevant industrial Commissions, Courts, and Tribunals. Additionally, you will provide regular reports and trend analysis of industrial issues affecting members.
This role can be based in Brisbane or at one of our regional offices in Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Bundaberg or Toowoomba.
Who we're looking for: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Industrial Relations, Law or other relevant disciplines and/or demonstrated relevant experience Demonstrated sound knowledge of state and federal industrial relations legislation Sound negotiation skills Solutions-focused case management skills Ability to work autonomously and continually reprioritise work Ability to distil relevant industrial issues in a broad and complex context Ability to acquire knowledge of the industrial interests of nurses and midwives Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication and presentation skills Demonstrated commitment to QNMU's values, purpose and trade unionism in general What are the benefits?
