You could be one of our 2700 committed team members who are up to the challenge.Reporting to the Customer Services Manager, could you be our next Services Officer?About the roleAs a Services Officer, you have been assigned to work at Geelong station. Your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent service to customers travelling on V/Line services while ensuring safety on and around the rail.Your duties as a Services Officer will include selling Myki and V/Net tickets, making platform announcements, and assisting passengers.The Services Officer at Geelong is a full-time position. You will be required to work on a 4-week rotating roster, which includes early starts (4:30 AM), late finishes (2 AM), weekends, and public holidays. There are also additional opportunities to pick up extra hours.Based on rostering and business requirements, you may be required to work at various stations along the Geelong line.In this work, you will:Gain a Certificate 3 in Rail Customer OperationsTrain as a reserve ConductorCommunicate accurate and timely information to customers about V/Line services and other forms of public transportationIdentify and report safety hazards or incidentsTake pride in, and maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the station and its facilitiesEnsure safety on and around the station, for customers, colleagues, and yourselfAbout youAs our next Services Officer, we are looking for a self-motivated individual who values customer service and safety overall. Employees of V/Line are required to maintain a valid Working with Children Check Victoria (Employee) for the duration of employment.This position is classified as a TRAINEE STATION STAFF ($26.3917) whilst completing a CERT 3 in Rail Customer Operations for 4 weeks in Melbourne. Upon successful completion of the training, the position is then classified as a STN OFF C1 ($39.6386) in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019 and is a Medical Category 3 position.Current employees are expected to remain in their role for a minimum of 12 months before applying to new positions within V/Line.V/Line is an equal opportunity employer.
