Job Description
The Digital Product Design (DPD) Branch is responsible for shaping the future digital experience of the Services Australia ecosystem, including myGov. This is achieved through consistent and seamless design practices aimed at reaching the digital experience target state.
We are seeking dedicated and experienced professionals in service design, user research, and interaction design to lead and inspire our teams at Services Australia. These roles are crucial in ensuring our services are user-centred, effective, and accessible.
Service Designers research, develop, prototype, and test service designs to ensure that services are designed in a way that creates optimal user and staff experience and delivers business outcomes. They are advocates for improving services and understand customer and staff needs, explore opportunities to improve services, and influence the delivery of government services from policy through to delivery, keeping the customer front and centre.
Interaction Designers assist in the development of design concepts for digital products and services. They design, test, and evaluate these solutions to ensure stakeholder and agency requirements have been met. They are able to interpret evidence-based research and incorporate this into their work, ensuring the quality of design.
User Research Officers support the delivery of quality user research project outcomes. They undertake research and analysis, prepare documentation, and provide general administrative support to user research-related activities.
These roles work under the support and general direction of senior staff. They exercise a degree of independent judgement and make decisions within defined parameters that require some reliance on skills and knowledge.
