The role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Components Technician to join the team at our Heatherbrae facility.
In this role, you will be required to perform high-quality assessments and repairs of various Sandvik components and complete general workshop duties as required.
Working within our Production, Research & Development (PRD) Centre – previous experience working on transmissions, converters, upboxes/dropboxes, and axles is preferred.
To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate a technical understanding of Sandvik equipment.
Your application of a proactive approach to ensuring machine performance will assist our customers in improving their productivity and the success of their operations, ensuring that we further expand our customer base in the area and the growth of the support team.
As a technician, you will be performing inspections and repairs on a range of specialist mining equipment, including but not limited to:
Individual components from Sandvik machinesAncillary UG equipmentTo support you, we will supply product training and the support of our dedicated product support personnel.
The role will work on a 4-day roster from the Heatherbrae Site, on night shift working hours from 3:20 PM to 12:50 AM.
Areas of responsibility Perform work in a safe manner in a team environmentAdhere to all Sandvik EHS and environmental policies and proceduresMaintenance and servicing of equipmentPlan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to work proceduresCommissioning of products that includes quality inspections and commissioning/dyno testingConduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and solve common problems as first line supportUse knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customersUnderstand system functionality and interactions of hydraulics/mechanics/electrics/automation/pneumatics/materialsComplete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholdersOccasionally collect technical feedback in the Sales AreaAssign simple tasks to junior staff and guide them in completing themEnsure that routine work procedures are carried out according to safety standardsAdhere to all policies & procedures, especially the EHS policiesWork effectively either in a team environment or autonomouslyYour profile Relevant Trade Qualification is desirable or relevant work experienceValid Driver's License (compulsory)Strong customer service and communication skillsFlexible to work with customer requirements, procedures, and safety policiesPositive attitude and a high level of determination to achieve targets set for customer satisfactionAttention to detail and good interpersonal skillsAbility to work unsupervisedProactive, self-motivated, and demonstrate initiativeAbility to learn and use digital mobile tools and applicationsAgencies need not apply.
