The role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Service Technician based at our Heatherbrae branch.The role is responsible to ensure efficient maintenance of our client's fleet of Sandvik Mining equipment.
As the Service Technician, you will be
Carrying out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining equipment.Performing mechanical maintenance duties as per maintenance plans while upholding the integrity of the equipment and ensuring safe operation is not compromised.Providing feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.Record keeping of parts usage, equipment monitoring, time records.Adhering to all policies & procedures, especially EHS policiesTo support you we will supply product training and the support of our dedicated products support personnel.
The role will work on a 4 day roster from Heatherbrae Site.
Areas of responsibility To perform work in a safe manner in a team environmentAdhere to all Sandvik EHS and environmental policies and proceduresMaintenance and Servicing Equipment.Plan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to work procedures.Commissioning of products that includes quality inspections and commissioning/ dyno testing.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and solve common problems, as a first line support.Uses knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers.Understands system functionality and interactions of hydraulics /mechanics/ electrics/ automation/ pneumatics/materials. Complete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders e.g., report and document on maintenance and/or repairs completed.Occasionally collect technical feedback in Sales Area (inputs into Database).Assigns simple tasks to junior staff and guides them in completing them.Ensures that routine work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies.Work effectively either in a team environment or autonomously.Your profile
You have a qualification in a mechanical trade plus a minimum 3 years' post-trade experience. Experience with underground and surface/hard rock experience is essential and previous experience with Sandvik equipment will be looked upon favourably. You have a strong commitment to EHS as you keep safety at the forefront of everything you do and excellent customer service skills.
