We are an Australian Weighing Company seeking to employ an experienced service technician at our Rockhampton Branch in Central Queensland. The bulk of our work is industrial, with weighbridges being at the forefront. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified scale technician to work for a well-established firm in Queensland.
Previous experience in this field is essential, and the NMI Statement of Attainment for 6.1 > 6.3 and 6.4 will need to be completed with urgency upon arrival in Australia. Any scale technician currently verifying trade scales in another country will easily complete these courses with minimal training.
The position is based at the Rockhampton Branch, which services the region from Mackay down to Bundaberg and out west, so travel is a significant part of this role. Applicants must be prepared to be away from home at least 1 to 2 nights a week, with occasional requirements for up to 4 nights away. Overnight allowances are paid for each night away.
Overtime will also be an ongoing requirement; this is paid at standard overtime rates. Above-award wages are offered to the right candidate, with 4 weeks paid annual leave, 10 days sick leave, and 11.5% superannuation employer contributions each week on top of your gross weekly wages.
Starting at $80K per year excluding overtime, a technician within this organisation can expect to earn at least $105k AU per annum, factoring in overtime, plus the 11.5% superannuation guarantee. A company car, phone, and laptop are standard for our NMI qualified technicians.
Assistance is available for Visa Applications and Relocation costs. The following criteria must be met: Suitable candidates must hold relevant qualifications, at least a Certificate III or Certificate IV in electronics or instrumentation and have at least 2 years of full-time experience in the nominated occupation.
Key Duties: Trade Verification of weighing equipment to ensure compliance with the National Instrument Testing Procedures for non-automatic weighing instruments. Diagnostics and repair of weighing and inspection equipment. Service, testing, and calibration of weighing and inspection equipment. Installation and commissioning of weighing and inspection equipment. Eccentricity testing of weighing equipment. Repeatability testing of weighing and inspection equipment. Supply complete and accurate service records through our paperless system. Be available for overnight trips, sometimes with minimal notice. Be available for overtime, sometimes with minimal notice. The position involves lifting weights of 20kg. Manual Driver Licence required. Forklift Licence required. Exceptional service and customer satisfaction are vital to our organisation.
