The role We are currently seeking enthusiastic and strong performing fitters to join our Orange workshop team. As a Service Technician, you will be performing machine inspections, decommissioning reports, full machine rebuilds, component rebuilds, preventative maintenance, and repairs of a range of specialist mining equipment with OEM product training available to support you in the onboarding process. Areas of responsibility Report all incidents, injuries and hazards immediately to your Supervisor and through the designated reporting systems of Sandvik and our customers (where applicable). Determine equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged components and parts. Correct deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems. Provide daily feedback and reports to supervisor on progress of work measured against schedule. Complete commissioning of new and repaired equipment/components. Enhance the service department and Sandvik's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing work to quality standards, maintaining accurate records of each repair performed and exploring opportunities to add value through continuous improvement practices. Participating in learning and development opportunities and support the development of others within the team through knowledge sharing and collaboration. Deal with clients, suppliers and other employees professionally - always. Ensure workshop and vehicle (where applicable) is clean and good housekeeping standards are maintained. Actively participate in ongoing learning for new and emerging equipment and technologies. Your Profile Mechanical background and relevant trade certification. Previous experience maintaining mobile mining equipment. C Class Driver Licence. Proactive, self-motivated and demonstrates initiative. Ability to think outside the box and find solutions. Strong and proven safety culture. Strong customer service focus and motivation to achieve targets and goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Solid computer literacy. You must have the right to live and work in this location to apply for this job & the ability to pass a pre-employment medical. What we offer 7/7 roster (rotating day and night shift), 12.25 hour days or 5/2. Highly competitive wages, additional allowances, and annual bonus. Phone, iPad, and uniform provided.
