About the role This critical role is a key component of the Strategic Master Plan for the Botanical Gardens.
You will use your management skills to lead the horticulture team.
Cultivate partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee the implementation of the RTBG Living Collections Master Plan.
Play a critical role in the assessment of tree health throughout the gardens maintaining safety standards.
About us Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG) is a State Government statutory body, governed under the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Act 2002 and is administered by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
A seven member RTBG Board is appointed by the Minister to manage the RTBG, with a director appointed to manage day-to-day operations within the Gardens.
Hours per fortnight 73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Desirable requirements A current motor vehicle driver's licence.
Demonstrated experience working within a botanic garden, or similar organisation.
A degree relevant to the professional duties to be undertaken, as provided by university / tertiary institution.
International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) or the ability to acquire after appointment.
