The Team: The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania's largest hospital.
Ward K9 W General and Vascular Surgery admits general surgery and vascular patients that are a combination of emergency and elective admissions with varying levels of complexity while also managing the most complex and highly specialized surgical procedures and complications in line with being a level 6 service.
General Surgery is a large and diverse clinical discipline that incorporates colorectal, breast and endocrine surgery.
Vascular surgery may involve medical management or require interventional radiology, minimally invasive endovascular and open surgical procedures and minor and major amputation.
The K9 W nursing team works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high quality care to patients during their admission to the ward and during their patient journey.
The Role: Supports and works collaboratively with less experienced members of the healthcare team and participates in orientation, precepting, clinical teaching, overseeing learning experiences, and goal setting for nursing staff.
Contributes to positive consumer outcomes by building confidence of clinicians via clinical coaching.
Guides safe, quality and evidence-based clinical care through the support, coaching and supervision of nursing staff in direct patient care.
Details of appointment: Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 32 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $99,455 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
