Service Officer (Identified)

We are recruiting to fill entry-level service delivery roles at the APS3 / APS4 level in Mount Isa, Queensland.
Successful candidates will be required to work from the Mount Isa Service Centre.
The main duties of these roles are not able to be undertaken remotely.
These roles have a strong involvement in issues relating to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and will involve direct interaction with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
To be considered for these jobs, you will need to have a good understanding of issues and challenges affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
As a new team member you are not expected to know everything at once.
You will learn to understand and explain Centrelink, Medicare, or Child Support payments and services to customers when they come into your local Service Centre.
You will help your community when they need to access government services.
To do this, we will train and support you.
The key duties of the position include: Greet and talk to customers that come into the office.
Be flexible and able to change the way you do things.
Work with your team members onsite and in other offices to get help when you need to.
Support someone who is upset or needs help.
Listen and understand what support someone might need.
Support and train others.
Duties: Help someone understand and self-manage their payments and services.
Use computer systems to find a way to solve a problem for someone.
Make decisions and tell people about them.
Tell someone about any complaints or issues.
