Be a part of leading and enabling our Eating Disorders Services Team to provide continued care and support to children, young people, parents, carers, and families. This is a permanent full time position; fixed term and part time options may be available. About Our Team: The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.
Our Eating Disorders Services (EDS) provide assessment, consultation and treatment for young people who present with symptoms of an eating disorder, and their families. We provide inpatient in-reach and outpatient intervention through various models of care including Family Based Therapy (FBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy – Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Adolescent Focused Therapy (AFT) and Multi Family Therapy (MFT). The service also provides multi-modal parent focused education and support. The EDS offers an outpatient day program, and state-wide consultation liaison with other CAMHS clinics. Our consumer engagement and research program are key components of our continuous commitment to ongoing improvement of our services.
Our diverse, multi-disciplinary team includes psychiatry, medical, psychology, dietetics, social work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing, and education personnel. We liaise with public and private sector CAMHS, youth and adult health providers statewide. Our state-wide service includes support for regionally based patients through provision of telehealth, and our partnership with WA Country Health Service (WACHS) CAMHS clinics.

About the Role: In collaboration with the Head of Service EDS, this role provides leadership governance, strategic planning, and management of the EDS. It ensures the planning, development implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the services care delivery and treatment at CAMHS. In this role you will be responsible for building effective internal and external stakeholder relationships to support the ongoing reform and care development of EDS in WA.
You will lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, professional coordinators, and other staff working within the Service. This includes undertaking recruitment and selection processes, overseeing training and development opportunities, monitoring performance outcomes for the team, and enabling effective day to day operations from a human resources perspective.
A tertiary qualification and appropriate registration in health, behavioural, social science or a clinical background within allied health, nursing, or psychology is desired. Both options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
About our CAMHS Directorates Community CAMHS – Community CAMHS offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years.Specialist Services and Day Programs – The Specialist Services and Day Programs consists of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and Touchstone.
