Overview: Townsville Hospital and Health Service (Townsville HHS) is seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to join our Senior Management Team as the Service Group Director - Medical.
In this executive role, you will drive strategic leadership and operational management for a large clinical division, playing a pivotal role in delivering safe, effective, and sustainable healthcare across North Queensland.

About the role: Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Service Group Director - Medical will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 1,183 full-time employees and managing an expenditure budget of $370 million.
As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will ensure that clinical services are delivered in alignment with the Townsville HHS's strategic objectives and Service Agreement with the Department of Health.
You will also oversee the development and implementation of the group's annual operational and performance plan, ensuring a high standard of patient care and clinical governance.
Key responsibilities: Provide executive-level leadership to the Medical Service Group, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Develop and implement the group's operational plan in alignment with Townsville HHS's strategic vision.
Ensure optimal use of financial and human resources to deliver quality health outcomes.
Establish strong governance frameworks and drive evidence-based decision-making.
Lead organisational change initiatives and sponsor major projects that enhance service delivery.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive performance and ensure the delivery of safe and sustainable healthcare services.
About you: The successful candidate will bring a strong track record in executive leadership and management within a large, complex, and multidisciplinary organisation.
You will demonstrate a deep understanding of clinical service environments and an ability to drive performance improvements.
Your ability to lead large teams, manage complex budgets, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance will be key to your success.
