As anexperienced Service Desk Technician, you will provide systemssupport nationally and desktop support for the NewcastleOffice. You will also be responsible for coordinating IT forall people moves within the Newcastle office. This roleforms part of our national Information Technology (IT) team. The ITteam at Hall & Wilcox has approximately 17 team membersnationally structured across infrastructure, development,application support, information security and servicedesk. This is ahybrid role with office attendance required a minimum three daysper week. Keyresponsibilities You will beresponsible for: responding to userinquiries by following service desk procedures; provision of supportacross a range of hardware and software, at level 1 and level2; ensuringall user requests are logged in the service desksystem; communication to usersas to the progress of their inquiries from receipt to closureof the call; advisingusers about service desk and operational support facilities andprocedures; ensuringlaptops for Newcastle new starters are properly imaged andtested; ensuringuser accounts for Newcastle new starters are properly createdand profiled on their laptops; identifying and advisingthe Service Delivery Manager of recurrent user inquiries;and involvement in ITprojects. Skills andexperience We are keento hear from candidates with the following skills andexperience: at least2 years of experience as a Service Desk Technician or in asimilar role within a professional servicesenvironment; tertiaryqualification in Information Technology or a relateddiscipline; strongorganisational skills; excellent verbal andwritten communication skills; self-motivated,decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competingdemands; and abilityto work well independently as well as productively within ateam.
