Service Designer (ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC) Estimated start date: Friday, 01 November 2024
Extension term: 12 months
Location of work: ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC
Working arrangements: The successful candidate will be a standing team member, and will be encouraged to work on-site at the Department of Health and Aged Care (state-based or central/Canberra office) at least one day per week.
Security clearance: Must have Baseline
This role requires a skilled Service Designer with a strong background in strategy, delivery, continuous improvement, and service design concepts. This role aims to enhance User Experience and Service Design capabilities, supporting evidence-based decision-making early in the process to ensure that digital solutions are effectively designed and delivered, behaviourally informed, integrated, and strategically aligned.
What you will bring: Deep understanding of strategy, delivery, continual service improvement and service design concepts Experience in embedding User Experience and Service Design capabilities Vast strategy development and implementation experience Demonstrated user research knowledge and outputs such as user journeys and blueprints Key duties may include, but are not limited to: Develop a business model and roadmap for implementing an Integrated Service Design function, along with a capability maturity plan focused on knowledge transfer and upskilling staff within relevant streams. Document detailed Blueprints of service offerings. Establish effective governance to serve as a design authority, providing quality assurance, planning, prioritization checks, and ensuring strategic alignment. Operate a Service Design 'Centre of Excellence' for the branch, ensuring consistency, transparency, and alignment of ICT changes while directing future improvements and efficiencies. Understand ongoing research activities across the broader department and perform User Experience and Service Design functions for various projects as needed. Has demonstrated experience in developing and implementing Service Design concepts and structures. A suitable approach to delivering the services requested by the Department's goals. Experience with engagement, collaboration, and planning functions. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
