The Role
The Service Delivery Officer works within the Infrastructure Development Group, supporting the Service Delivery Group in delivering cutting-edge telecommunication services to Australia's academic and research sector.
Your enthusiasm for understanding optical fibre networks will be the cornerstone of your success in this role. Collaborating with skilled engineers and technicians, you'll contribute to designing, deploying, and managing our expanding optical network. Your analytical thinking will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of critical network services.
The Infrastructure Development Group is committed to providing high-quality network solutions that meet our customers' requirements. With projects varying in size, complexity, and location, your dedication to continuous learning and application of new knowledge will be essential.
Your ability to apply logical and numerical reasoning to tasks will be supported by on-the-job training and skills development opportunities.
This is a fixed term role.
Responsibilities
Supporting network planning tasks including engineering design activities to design, deliver and deploy new fibre optical services
Maintaining internal data systems including fibre optical network data to a high level of precision and accuracy
Assisting with the production of project specific documentation and reporting including producing high quality customer hand over documentation
Maintaining highly accurate fibre splicing designs for network construction projects including auditing and verifying fibre optical test results to preserve the integrity and reliability AARNet services
Other administration activities for the Service Delivery team as required
Utilising core AARNet technology to support the project tasks including (but not limited to) Word, Excel, Visio, Jira, Confluence, Zoom
Proactively identifying areas for improvement across systems and processes
Excellent problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to think logically will be key your success in this role.

Expertise, experience & qualifications
You are an Australian citizen and resident
You have excellent computer skills and are comfortable using a broad range of office software applications including Word, Excel, or applications you have never used before
Solid logical, numerical and spatial reasoning skills
You are confident working independently
Experience or interest in Telecommunications or Networking is welcome but not required
