Service Deli Assistant - Part-Time

Part Time Position - min 24 hours per weekRotating roster which will include weekend work and starts from 5am or finishing as late as 10pm.Position Summary Prepares, packages, and labels meals, entrees, salads, party trays, rotisserie chicken, sliced meats, and cheeses. Prepares take-and-bake pizzas. Stocks and rotates merchandise in the display case. Maintains machinery and equipment. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
• Dismantles equipment, washes, rinses and sanitises removable parts, equipment in Deli and Rotisserie rooms
• Inspects and reassembles equipment, addresses any corrective actions from the previous night
• Reworks display case, filling and rotating merchandise
• Completes required department paperwork
• Cleans and sanitises work area throughout the day following sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP)
• Completes and complies with 11 commandments of Quality assurance, food safety certification, department specific training and all safety training required by warehouse, service deli and rotisserie department
• Complies with health code by following sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures
• Stocks and rotates supplies in cooler/freezer
• Removes rubbish from department and work areas
• Operates trash compactor and cardboard baler
• Skewers and loads chicken into rotisserie ovens
• Cooks chicken as per Standard Operating Procedure
• Packages, labels and displays chicken in hot holding cabinet
• Adheres to all departments Standard Operating Procedures
• Prepares meat, poultry, cold meat, vegetables and seafood as per Standard Operating Procedures
• Assembles platters, pizzas, sushi, salads, raw meats and other items sold in the Service Deli and Rotisserie departments
• Assists with other departments of the warehouse as necessary
• Provides and ensures prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and vendors.
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
• Pressure washer, commercial dish washer, combination heat/steam oven, warming case, shears, wheeled racks, proofing boxes, ovens, trash compactor, cardboard baler, pallet jack, blast chiller, air hose cleaner, step ladder.
Qualifications
Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
Licenses/Certifications: Food service or comparable experience
Experience/Skills: Previous food handling experience | Strong interpersonal & communication skills
Other specific requirements
* If successful, you will be required to undertake role & department specific training within specified timeframes
