About the role We're looking for a dynamic and experienced Service Coordinator to join our team on a 5 Month Fixed-Term Contract, working 38 hours per/week, contract ending March 2025.
This opportunity is based in Strathpine, with some travel to other service locations required to support staff and client needs.
The overall purpose of the Service Coordinator is to provide service coordination and leadership to a team of multidisciplinary counsellors, case managers and support staff in delivering a range of quality individualised mental health, counselling, family support, and community services programs.
The Service Coordinator will also maintain a client case load according to service need, and coach, mentor and guide staff in case direction and complex client support.
Working with experienced counsellors across Family Counselling program as well as Police and Court Diversion (PCD) and Recovery Pathways (Drug and Alcohol Counselling) Responsibilities: Conduct regular file audits and assist with staff development, including complex case planning, risk assessments, and safety planning.
Provide leadership and support to the team, oversee client assessments, monitor service quality, and ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
Facilitate team cohesion and professional growth, including performance appraisals, recruitment, orientation, and ongoing skill development.
Manage and backfill client caseloads as needed, and deliver group work programs in the community.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of client issues and referral trends, ensuring adherence to relevant frameworks.
Provide feedback on the Intake and Assessment process to enhance client and service delivery.
Develop and manage relationships with external stakeholders and represent the service at relevant networks and forums.
Promote the organization positively and engage in community development activities and partnerships.
Generate innovative ideas and work collaboratively to enhance practices and achieve organizational goals.
Stay aware of personal and team skill needs, promote dynamic work practices, and share best practices and new ideas.
Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Early Childhood or a related field Post-graduate qualification in Family Support/Mental Health (desired) Current National Police Check Current Blue Card Current Queensland Driver Licence Ability and willingness to travel within the service region.
Ability and willingness to work outside of standard business hours, including on-call work.
About You: Experienced Practitioner: Extensive background in mental health, counselling, and family support, with expertise in various therapeutic models and a multicultural perspective.
Effective Leader: Proven ability to manage, coordinate, and lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a talent for consulting, negotiating, and liaising with diverse groups.
Skilled Problem Solver: Highly-developed problem-solving and decision-making abilities, capable of making sound ethical and business decisions.
