On the back of an excellent financial year where we have grown into new markets and customers, we recently achieved number 22 on the Australian Financial Reviews Fast 100 List and the growth is continuing in the new year.We are seeking an experienced Windows Server/Virtualisation Specialist to join our Technical Services team and support a major Federal Government Department. This role is critical in the ongoing modernisation of IT infrastructure, platforms, and networks. As a key contributor, you will play a vital role in meeting security hardening measures and transitioning multiple business systems and infrastructure capabilities off legacy platforms. We have a preference for this role to be a permanent engagement but can also consider contractor options.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the setup, configuration, and ongoing management of a virtualised server environment across various domains.Offer specialised technical guidance to projects and business units, steering the successful delivery of technical solutions.Administer, monitor, and enhance Virtual Service Environment (VSE) systems and servers, ensuring alignment with vendor guidelines.Collaborate with stakeholders to plan, design, develop, test, and sustain both new and existing virtual services.Implement and configure virtual services and servers according to the operational frameworks set by application owners.Direct the analysis, planning, execution, and optimisation efforts using appropriate methodologies and tools.Encourage the use of virtual services by conducting demos and walkthroughs for ICT stakeholders and project teams.Support and advise project teams on maintaining their virtual service environments effectively.Key Requirements:Proven experience in the BAU management and project delivery around Windows Server and Virtualisation in Federal Government. Experience in Active Directory, SCCM, SCOM and Microsoft File and Print.Extensive experience in VMWare Technologies including, VMware ESX & vSphere, VMware vRA, VMware vSAN, VMware NSX, VMware virtualisation on HCIProven ability to work within a structured IT governance framework, adhering to relevant standards and policies.Ability to take ownership of designs and transition plans while coordinating implementation activities.High level of professionalism, with sound judgment and decision-making skillsIf you are interested, then we encourage you to apply!
