About this exciting opportunityAs a member of the AIMS Technology Transformation Engineering team you will be responsible for the provision of systems engineering activities to develop, design, produce and maintain the sensors systems and instrumentation to support technology development work. You will lead the AIMS sensors and instrumentation engineering activities to contribute to the design, development and management of range instrumentation within the ReefWorks test ranges in northern Queensland. As our Sensors and Instrumentation Engineer you will provide expert advice and support as well as overseeing the work of other assigned AIMS staff to ensure suitable systems engineering activities are planned and executed to achieve the required outcomes effectively and efficiently.
About youUnderpinning your suitability for this role is your Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian institution in Electronics, Mechatronics Mechanical, Electrical or Software Engineering (or an associated field) OR a suitably trade qualified senior technician with significant practical experience in the testing and/or sensor/instrumentation domains. You have practical experience in the test and support of complex and novel systems – ideally marine sensing and range instrumentation technologies. You have demonstrated experience leading small teams and you have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
