Churches of Christ, a trusted community leader for over 140 years, invites you to join our mission-driven team as a Senior Living Chaplain. As a Senior Living Chaplain, you will be a key member of the Mission Team, dedicated to delivering holistic pastoral care programs, nurturing a Jesus-centered spirituality, and providing support to residents, families, and staff within a residential aged care facility.
This essential role blends spiritual leadership with compassionate care, fostering a nurturing and welcoming community.
This part-time position is 3 days a week and located in Hervey Bay.
Your key responsibilities include: Facilitating holistic pastoral care programs to meet the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of residents.Nurturing a Jesus-centered spirituality through the provision of religious services, programs, and spiritual guidance.Functioning as a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing pastoral and spiritual insights to enhance the overall care of residents.Developing a healthy community in partnership with staff, where residents feel a sense of home, welcome, and belonging.Developing and mentoring volunteers, enabling further care to flourish within the service.What You'll Bring: Certificate IV in Pastoral Care, Chaplaincy, or equivalent qualification.At least three years of experience providing advanced pastoral care in a health or community setting.Servant leadership qualities with a demonstrated commitment to Jesus-centered living and mission.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage meaningfully with residents, families, staff, and volunteers.Intermediate computer proficiency and a valid driver's license.Capacity to meet compliance requirements, including police checks, Blue Card, and applicable vaccinations.Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
