Mandatory requirements: One of the referees should be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, where possible, who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities. Drivers' license: it is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold an unrestricted "c" class driver's licence as officers are required to drive government vehicles as a part of their day-to-day work. Blue card: this role provides support services to children and young people and therefore will require a valid Blue Card with the organisation. Please refer to the Blue Card Services website ( ( )) for further information. Travel away from centre: while the position is based in Townsville , travel within the region for site visits and to other regional offices may be required in this role. This may include overnight stays. As Senior Youth Worker, you will specifically: Provide assistance to the Program Coordinator in ensuring the delivery of high- quality service in accordance with relevant legislative provision, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures and contemporary best practice. Develop weekly work rosters, matching young people subject to youth justice orders, with appropriate youth workers. Negotiate with other Government and community agencies, on behalf of young people, so as to enhance their access to services in accordance with the case plan. Conduct regular audits of Workplace Health and Safety issues in relation to agencies. Ensure that safety equipment is available and all equipment used in conjunction with the Community Service Order Program is safe to operate. Provide supervision and support to young people to assist with their compliance with court orders and reintegration into the community in accordance with the case plan. This includes delivery of change-oriented programs and services to young people. Maintain records of program attendance and prepare reports to assist case planning and reviews and attend these meetings as required. Participate productively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team involving a range of internal and external stakeholders and service providers to achieve quality casework outcomes.
