Our diversity helps us provide the best support possible to carers, families, children and young people and all of our external stakeholders.A little about the roleAs a Senior Youth Worker, you will make a positive and lasting difference to children and young people through the provision of quality care in a family setting whilst working within the parameters of the Key Assets Practice Framework. The Senior Youth Worker, with the support of the Case/Social Worker and Team/Program Manager, will lead the team around the young person to implement therapeutic interventions.You will observe and implement Child Protection and Child Safe Procedures, Better Care Better Services Standards and adhere to Safer Caring Guidelines.You will provide direct care to individuals on a rostered basis, including overnight support, assisting in meeting their social, emotional, educational/vocational, health, recreational and cultural needs whilst achieving their independent living goals.You will, in consultation with the key care team, contribute to the assessment of need, and the development of individual therapeutic/goal plans for young people.You will work closely with the Case Worker and therapy team to ensure fully integrated service delivery.You will lead in developing a positive team culture, including contributing to the learning of colleagues and continuous improvement.Excellent rates SCHADS Level 4 and allowances. This position is permanent full time.About youYou will be able to provide a demonstration of:Concise understandings of trauma informed therapeutic care to assist in deescalating and responding to critical incidents with the young person.Experience in dealing with children and young people with 'complex needs and behaviours' and the ability to therapeutically manage these behaviours.Prior experience in leading/developing teams working with vulnerable children and young people of various ages from 0-18 years of age would be highly desirable.My Key AssetsThe health and wellbeing of our people is at the core of our employee and client experience.
