As the Senior Work Health and Safety Officer, your core focus is to promote a positive safety and wellbeing culture with stakeholders and employees across our organisation at all levels.
This is a collaborative role, where education and implementation of practices and legislation that affect our organisation is paramount.
The Senior Work Health and Safety Officer reports to the WHS Manager and is a member of the Enterprise Risk team.

Be responsible for supporting managers and staff with the deployment of Council's work health and safety management system. Provide specialist operational advice and analysis on complex safety issues, and influence and coach workers to implement solutions to safety challenges facing the organisation. Contribute towards the development and continuous improvements of our council's safety and wellbeing practices. Drive WHS policy, procedures, training and development, and continuous improvement practices. This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time, 35 hours/week + access to a flexible working arrangement such as flexi-time.
Base Salary Range: $84,031 to $98,860 pa based on 35 hours/week + 11.5% superannuation + $18,619.19 motor vehicle allowance + $2,312 retention allowance.

Certification in Workplace Health and Safety Auditing, and Workplace Training & Assessment. Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act and relevant legislation.
