Senior Wildlife Officer

Senior Wildlife Officers within the Department of Environment and Science work to protect, conserve and manage the sustainable use of Queensland's native wildlife.As a Senior Wildlife Officer, you will be required to coordinate operational business and lead the Cairns team of Wildlife Officers in wildlife responses, projects, and compliance, as well as coordinate ongoing and emerging stakeholder relationships, building and fostering Traditional knowledge and culture within the workplace.The Senior Wildlife Officer role advertised is part of the Cairns Operational team, which operates in Cairns to deliver services to conserve and protect native and threatened wildlife and associated habitat.Senior Wildlife Officers in the Northern Region Operations have a focus on wildlife management, including working with crocodiles, cassowaries, and flying-foxes.
