Senior WHS Specialist - 12 Month Maximum Term Opportunity / Perth CBDWe have three exciting new 12-month maximum term opportunities for Senior WHS Risk Specialists within the Safety, Health, and Environment Function at our Perth office.
These roles will focus on providing strategic direction, subject matter expertise and advice in relation to the development and ongoing management of Western Power's work health and safety risk management programs, with a focus on the embedment of WHS Critical Risk Management into everyday operations.Your Role in ActionThe Senior Work Health & Safety Risk Specialists will be required to work in lead roles, including:Lead the ongoing implementation of WHS Critical Risk Management.Monitor and review WHS Critical Risk Management related processes to ensure they remain effective in achieving objectives.
This includes ensuring documentation, systems and processes remain fit for purpose.Undertake WHS Critical Risk Management related education to all levels of the business.Undertake verification activities to proactively inform the business of areas where Critical Controls are not functioning / ineffective.Monitor and report on critical control health to ensure continual improvement of Western Power's work health and safety performance.Formulate direction and strategy to identify, manage and mitigate Western Power's work health and safety risk exposures.Provide advice and guidance to senior executive and management teams in relation to management of work health and safety performance.Contribute to successful outcomes in relation to projects where the SHE Function provides a supporting role.What Makes You a Great FitWe are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:Tertiary level qualification in Safety, Risk, or other relevant discipline.Extensive experience in the provision of strategic advice and guidance to senior management on work health and safety risk and related issues.Extensive experience in the provision of work health and safety risk advice and management of change.Experience in developing and delivering risk management studies including facilitation.Demonstrated knowledge of Work, Health and Safety legislation.Excellent communication skills, ability to think creatively and influence stakeholders, take initiative, plan, and execute complex projects.By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future.
