Senior Water Security & Policy Advisor Work. Are you passionate about water and want to help make Queensland drought resilient?
Join Sunwater as Senior Water Security & Policy Advisor, where you'll play a vital role in identifying and leading the development of projects and initiatives which achieve Water Act compliance and Water Plan objectives including water resource security / drought resilience.
You will lead interactions with Sunwater operations and customers and stakeholders in relation to the Queensland Water Planning Framework and other regulatory instruments.
As a Senior Water Security & Policy Advisor at Sunwater, you will:
Assess the current state of water security and its impact on business operations and growth potential. Develop strategies to manage water resources sustainably and reduce water security related risks. Facilitate Sunwater's ongoing compliance with water resource management legislation and other requirements within a robust risk management and assurance framework. We are seeking a talented individual with a proven track record in developing and applying water policies, procedures and plans to water supply schemes in response to legislative requirements, water industry drivers and other reforms shaping the water industry in Queensland and Australia.
You will hold tertiary qualifications in science, law, engineering or similar from a recognised institution.
You will also bring:
Analytical expertise: Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills including a proven ability to formulate water related strategies, policies and implementation plans using participative consultation and negotiation processes. Stakeholder management skills: Proven ability to liaise and negotiate with government agencies, peak bodies and water users on natural resource management policy matters, particularly relating to water. Communication skills: Excellent communication skills with a knack for writing and presenting quality reports and findings to senior leadership, including the Board and executive leadership team.
