Job no: 504509 Work type: Ongoing Full Time Location: Canberra Categories: Journalism/Content Making, Production/Content, Broadcast Operations/Transmission Location: Canberra Parliament House Create digital-first video coverage for web, mobile, social and broadcast platformsBase salary Circa $92K-$110K p.a.Permanent, full-time role The RoleThis vital role will see you playing a senior role in the planning, production and output of all TV programming, including "Afternoon Briefing" and other TV, digital video and social media content from Parliament House.You will focus on broadening ABC audiences and providing depth and understanding through editorially rigorous and creative storytelling.The JobWorking closely with, and in collaboration with the Editor Politics and the Leadership team, you will: Plan and produce news content in line with ABC Editorial Policies.Oversee the production of Afternoon Briefing and other bulletin rundowns on-shift, updated on-air rundowns and ensure the immediacy of continuous news output.Supervise the preparation of news content and collaborate with producers, reporters, presenters and studio crew on planning, producing and delivering content.
Position Description: About YouYou'll need significant editorial experience, with considerable news judgement in a fast-paced news environment, coupled with natural leadership skills to guide our high performing team to boost audience engagement and influence content creation on multiple platforms.You'll have: An ability to generate original political interview ideas and stories, and to secure senior political talent for interviews on issues of national affairs and government.Advanced ability in planning, producing and delivering innovative news programming with an audience focus.Demonstrated experience in the control room outputting news bulletins including live events, live reporter crosses, studio interviews as well as breaking news and rolling coverage.
