We're currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Vice President, Credit Risk Approver - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Credit Portf Senior Officer I - C14 ) based in Sydney, Australia. This senior-level position is responsible for leading activities including credit review, credit approvals, and monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective is to manage Citi's portfolio exposure to clients and counterparties globally.
In this role, you're expected to:
Assess risk when business decisions are made, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Lead key business projects related to policy governance and manage policy exceptions/approvals.
Focus on process improvement and efficiencies in partnership with Audit management.
Conduct gap analyses and remediation work for policy changes.
Ensure test and significant credit changes are reported and tracked.
Provide regular feedback on initiatives, tracking, reviews, and reporting trends to senior management.
Establish cross-functional partnerships to execute business initiatives.
As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:
10+ years of experience in credit risk management or equivalent training, preferably in financial services.
Prior experience in structured corporate finance transactions within Mid-market and/or Institutional Banking.
Strong analytical skills and financial knowledge of balance sheet analysis.
Industry knowledge and experience in lending to Corporate/Institutional clients.
Excellent communication skills for negotiation at a senior level.
Ability to work on cross-functional projects.
Proficiency in MS Office software.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize and deliver results urgently.
Interpersonal, organizational, analytical, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and strategic skills.
Ability to obtain support and buy-in from a range of audiences.
Demonstrated work ethic and influencing skills.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
