We are an equal opportunity employer that is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and safe working environment.The opportunityThe Senior Valuer is responsible for providing accurate and timely valuation reviews and advice to SRO staff and, where necessary, assist with the referral and outsourcing of valuations to the Valuer-General, Victoria. This role will enable an experienced valuer to broaden their skill set with exposure to a wide range of specialised properties and to develop their property nous by providing meaningful valuation advice that will make a significant contribution to the State of Victoria.Responsibilities:Reviewing taxpayer provided valuations and advising on their acceptability and reasonableness or the need for referral to the Valuer-General, Victoria.Assisting staff with negotiations to resolve complex valuation disputes.Developing and delivering training on the valuation principles and issues relevant to transactions and land holdings taxable under the Duties Act 2000 and the Land Tax Act 2005.Identifying industry valuation practices that seek to minimise tax and assist in the development of compliance programs to counter and address such practices and concerns.Participating in inter-branch consultation on valuation issues and property related matters.Who we are looking forTo be successful in this role, you will have:A relevant tertiary qualification in Property with current Certified Practicing Valuer (CPV) accreditation.Associate Membership of the Australian Property Institute (API).Demonstrated experience in undertaking and preparing complex valuations on commercial, industrial and residential properties for commercial and/or taxation purposes.Demonstrated understanding of the valuation principles relevant to transactions and land holdings taxable under the Duties Act 2000 and/or the Land Tax Act 2005.Demonstrated high level written communication skills to prepare professional technical reports and written advice in a clear and concise manner.How to applySubmit an application via the 'Apply now' button by 11.59pm on Wednesday 27 November 2024.
