Senior UX Designer - 12 Month Fixed Term ContractReporting to the Digital Experience Manager, Senior UX designers, working alongside UX Leads within Website, Sales & Business Insurance are responsible for driving and progressing Suncorp's digital experiences across our insurance brand customer applications.
Senior UX Designers often set and communicate the strategic design direction, garnering consensus and alignment across stakeholder groups, whilst guiding other UX designers throughout design/feature deliverables. Specifically, the senior UX designer will:
Lead the communication of design recommendations across the product delivery teams, whilst often being a central contact point for wider stakeholder groups.Actively contribute to prioritisation (Stand Ups) of design tasks & rituals across the team.Coach, mentor, guide, and critique other designers on best practice UX design.Assist in evolving the teams WoW design approach and methodologies.Report on BAU/project/initiative/task status and if required advise on resource needs (Lead UX & management support).Actively report and present design showcase activities.About the Team: The UX design team is the centre of excellence for UX within the Suncorp Group. We deliver initiatives across various platforms within the Insurance space.
Our team designs a broad range of optimisation solutions, new business initiatives and propositions whilst keeping aligned to company digital strategy to drive and enhance our customer's digital connections around 'moments that matter'.
Description: You'll be working across predominately Web and Sales Channels (customer discovery and purchase) for all our brands, whilst being cognizant of our Service (self-service platforms) & Native App capabilities so having experience, and a portfolio (App, mobile responsive) is favourable. An understanding of working with and applying component design thinking (especially AEM design components) is also beneficial, as Suncorp's environments are embedded in this approach.
About You: Preferably tertiary qualification in design, computer science or behavioural sciences.5+ years' experience as a UX designer.Understanding responsive design, building designs using components and auto-layouts in Figma.Strong understanding of core best practice design principles and designing in hi fidelity.Proactive engagement and autonomous delivery.Strong communication skills with a varied range of specialist stakeholders - Product Owners, Copy Writers, Front End Developers, SEO Specialists, UX, CMS Authors etc.Being able to document and present design rationale to peers and stakeholders.Experience working in scrum is desirable.Highly desirable to have experience designing with CSS Styleguides.Highly desirable to understand designing for accessibility to a AA standard.Desirable to have experience designing for Adobe AEM.Understanding of Atomic Design Principle, related frameworks in design and how to implement them.Experience creating Figma components utilising variances and variables.Maintaining and using design system libraries in Figma.About Us: We're proud to be a part of the Suncorp Group family alongside some of Australia's most trusted and diverse names in insurance.
