About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Urbanist-Planner to join our highly engaged team of urban development professionals. This role will suit a dynamic and passionate individual looking to take the next step in their professional career.
Our ideal candidate for this role will have planning experience working within the private or public sector. They will have an outcomes-oriented attitude, excellent client liaison skills, be a team player, and have a passion for working in a high performing organisation.
Key Responsibilities

Work collaboratively across a wide range of projects and services within the organisation's diversified portfolios, including as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
Be responsible for leading a range of deliverables including development approvals, planning scheme amendments, preparation of strategies and studies, and provision of strategic advice that matters for our clients.
Play a key role in preparing fee proposals and tender submissions, assessing and reporting on technical documentation, being a key player in multi-disciplinary project teams, manage sub-consultants, and delivery of projects.
Develop your skills in project management, delegation, and supervision through managing junior staff members.
Develop others within the team by sharing your knowledge and collaborative work experiences.
Build on your existing stakeholder relationships and networks to achieve positive results for clients and work with the team to generate new business.
Develop a broader skillset through working side by side with economists, urban designers, social planners, project managers and community & stakeholder engagement professionals.

Minimum Qualifications

A Tertiary qualification in Planning or related degree/discipline.
2-5 years of urban planning experience within a professional services firm or state/local government.
Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with a flexible and positive attitude to working on a range of different projects concurrently.
An in-depth knowledge of the Queensland planning framework, experience preparing considered strategic frameworks that facilitate robust planning outcomes.
Well-versed communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with clients and other project team members.
Excellent writing skills, who can draft efficiently, write accurate and comprehensive reports and prepare external correspondence.
