A member of the Precincts and Projects team of the Strategy and Engagement division, the Senior Urban Designer undertakes projects and initiatives relating to urban design, providing high level technical advice, analysis and reporting on a wide range of complex urban design and planning matters to deliver precincts and projects in line with government priorities. The Senior Urban Designer liaises with a broad range of stakeholders, and the public on matters relevant to urban design and the Directorate.
This recruitment is for permanent, fixed term, full-time or part time positions. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 24 months from the initial date of appointment.
To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate: A degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Urban Design or an approved equivalent degree relevant to design is essential.Substantial knowledge and experience in architecture, urban design, precinct planning or development and demonstrated ability to critically analyse problems and opportunities to deliver projects and navigate the WA planning framework.Experience in project management and navigating complex urban design and/or planning projects and initiatives.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to prepare and use design drawings and concepts to communicate with a range of stakeholders.Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Personal Leadership.
