Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Duration: Permanent  Location: Perth Requisition: REQ203068 About the role Ansvar Australia , who are proudly part of Benefact Group , are looking for a Senior   Underwriter  to join our Team.
The Senior Underwriter is responsible for the personal underwriting of medium to complex risks within our portfolios and sectors within delegated underwriting authority and in accordance with the Company's laid down strategies to support the profitable growth of the business.
The Senior Underwriter is also responsible for maximising existing and new business opportunities sourced by the State's Business Development team in partnership with the Regional Underwriting Manager.
The primary objective of the role is to deliver professional and efficient customer service to achieve profitable premium growth and underwriting profitability in our core segments.

Key responsibilities Assist in the growth and maintenance of profitable, sustainable business within the allocated State's portfolio of business Undertake personal underwriting of the schemes and medium to large sized policies, including new business Deliver professional and efficient customer service to brokers and distribution partners, as well as internal colleagues Assist the State Manager, Regional Underwriting Manager and Technical Solutions team in maximising the profitability of Ansvar's portfolio Contribute to the alignment of risk and compliance management practises within the allocated portfolio by sitting at the first line of defence Contribute to developing a workplace learning environment Knowledge, skills and experience 5+ years experience working in Underwriting including business development functions with strong commercial lines product knowledge Proven underwriting capability within the insurance sector An understanding of insurance risk management including reinsurance  Excellent collaboration, communication and negotiation skills both internally and externally Able to make balanced judgements based on data analysis and interpretation Able to demonstrate excellent people skills and ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, business partners and customers Responds positively to change Ability to create a positive working environment Embraces and consistently displays Ansvar's values What we offer Learning and Development opportunities Reward & Recognition Program Competitive Parental Leave Arrangement Purchase additional Annual Leave opportunity A range of Wellbeing & Safety benefits available to colleagues and their families Participation in Ansvar's short term incentive scheme Ansvar employees can participate in our annual Community Education Program which provides assistance to organisations supporting young Australians Volunteering opportunities provided throughout the year Flexible working conditions is part of our DNA, and our hybrid working practices enable colleagues to collaborate effectively whilst balancing personal needs About us Ansvar Australia is an insurance and risk specialist with a unique expertise and genuine focus on protecting and supporting organisations who care for and serve the needs of our communities.
